Within the scope of 3rd Grade “CE 382-Reinforced Concrete” course of Abdullah Gül University (AGU) Civil Engineering Department, a technical trip was organized to ENERJISA's Erciyes Wind Power Plant (WPP) in Yahyalı district. On June 23, 2022, 8 students taking the course as well as research assistants participated in the trip, which took place under the coordination of Prof. Dr. Kamil AYDIN, a faculty member of the AGU Civil Engineering Department. The students who participated in the trip first received theoretical information with the seminar held at the construction site. In the seminar, students both asked their questions about WPPs to the experts, and received occupational safety instructions before the field trip to be made afterwards. After the theoretical briefing, the students had the opportunity to see the wind turbines under construction on site during the field trip. The Erciyes WPP project, in which Turkey's largest rotor diameter turbines are used, will have a total installed power of 65 MW when completed. The power plant, which will be implemented with an investment of approximately 70 million dollars, is targeted to be completed by the end of 2022.
